Dad ran an auto repair shop for the last 45 years and says they are the single worst brand of vehicle you can buy, I don't even think that's why I hate them so bad though
He also said they are generally annoying customers
These ducks they put all over their interiors is the cringiest shit ever and I can't even explain why it bothers me so much
If you follow any offroad forums you'll notice the jeep people will use insufferable vocabulary such as "my hubby" or "fur babies" or "puppers"
What's wrong with these people and why do they buy these cars?
I have an old jeep, and I agree, jeep people are cringe as hell. I inherited my jeep, and like it for sentimental reasons. But it is built like shit, and probably the least practical a vehicle could possibly be.
And also I swear the “jeep person” as we know them came out of nowhere in like 2010. At least around me they had a sort of reputation as a hippie car when I was growing up.
It happened when they released the "unlimited" wranglers, the ones with 4 doors. Once "fun moms" found out about em, that was it. That did 2 things: made jeep realize they didn't need to be as rugged, and forced their "tough guy" audience to separate themselves with mods.
Yeah and just them becoming more like normal cars in general. Mine feels more like a tractor than a car, and has about as many luxuries. I never saw the duck thing or the angry eyes until after the JK had been out for a while.
I used to tell people being inside a jeep is a lot like being outside a jeep. Took a certain kind of person to be okay with that. And that’s not the case anymore.
Oh absolutely. In the end, I got rid of mine because of rust and overall growing failure list. It had 72k miles...
Picked up something more practical that passengers wouldn't get sick in from the ride, while maintaining or beating it in off-road capability.
Also, yup, it was the JK, kind of coincidental that that's the generation that made them a joke.
