Wake me up when Fairphone does not use USB 2.0 speeds anymore...

It also supports Wi-Fi and 5G for file transfers, which are faster than USB 2.0 and come with the added benefit of not needing a cable at all.

usb 3.0 or die

USB 2.0 also means you can't hook it up to a monitor, though... WiFi and 5G don't quite cut it there.

You can always get the FP5, that still has USB 3 speeds. Honestly, the 6 and 6+ aren't a huge upgrade over the 5 (and in some senses like the USB speeds a downgrade)

Also, the FP5 has display output via the USB-C connector, which the FP6 does not have.

That's great for connecting to a hotel's TV when travelling. Some people also use it as a desktop replacement, but not really my thing.

At the moment it's not great as a desktop replacement, but that's mostly because of Android IMO, which just isn't great at that stuff at all. My hope is that some time into the future Linux for mobile improves to a point where it's usable for me as a daily driver, then it might just be useful as a desktop replacement. Because here's the thing: the FP5's chipset can power two displays, and AFAICT if the internal display isn't used, it can power two external displays - it's just Android which doesn't support it. If that's the case, it could be quite the productivity machine on Linux.

You can't necessarily, they don't sell it anymore. You have to hope resellers have stock in your region.

Oh OK, that sucks. Oh well.
