It's extremely salty and all the preservatives are the specific things that make "ultraprocessed" foods bad for people, but other than that yeah it's basically just an uncased sausage and the reason it's "gross" is because a lot of people don't bother cooking it so it's like eating a cold hotdog straight from the package.
i've had it warm on a bun and it was way too fucken salty for me.
Yeah a lot of white haoles have a problem with natives and their use of spam
it's just sausage at the end of the day, sausage never really looks that great in the first place and canned food being bad is its own stigma
highly preserved food definitely has a class element too
