If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. I wouldn't be surprised if Slate had a secret modem, tbh. It's backed by Bezos, so I would assume the worst until someone not affiliated with the company can conclusively prove that they aren't collecting driving/charging/location info.
That would be very dumb because someone would certainly find it immediately.
Sure, if it were a discrete component. I don't see any reason it couldn't be integrated into a separate component like the dashboard display, motor controllers, or something like that.
I recognize this is a crazy paranoid line of thought, but we live in a society run by surveillance capitalists and I'm of the belief that we shouldn't give Bezos the benefit of the doubt. If his name weren't attached to the prophecy, I'd be more willing to trust Slate.
Doesn't matter where it is, all you have to do is look for radio signals.
