You're not wrong, but your timescale is. What does the next generation of not yet born folks think about the next generation of not yet born folks will ultimately matter.
I'm pretty firmly convinced the reason it took this long for the fascist takeover and probably WWIII is because it took about this long, 70-80ish years, for the living memory of WWII to, uh, stop living.
