Recently, since about a week or two I think, the Steam overlay has entirely stopped working for me. The in-game fps counter isn't there, my steam controller does not go into the game's profile, and no overlay appears on shift+tab, and it also looks like maybe Steam's shader pre-caching isn't working, because I'm occasionally seeing "Compiling shaders..." in the bottom left corner with pretty much every game.

Has anyone else had this issue, or know how to debug this? Logs don't show anything odd.

I'm running Steam on Fedora Sway, with proprietary Nvidia drivers, and the games with gamemode, and gamescope.

Everything here does fit my problem, the thing that's weird is that the overlay has actually worked before on the same system, using Wayland. I guess valve turned on some wayland flag or something?

Apparently in the native build of factorio you can manually select x11 or Wayland, gonna try playing around with that
