Trades pay very well and don't require expensive schooling. Inexpensive cars can be readily found (you don't need a new car). Credit cards don't charge interest if you pay them off every month (or if you simply avoid them). You don't need the phone upgrade and eating out is a special event thing, not a regular thing. A house is the only thing you need to go into debt for; and the interest rates for those are much more reasonable then for all the other crap above.

Don't fall for the keeping up with the Jonses crap. You don't need whatever it is most people consider the must have or must do.
