I hate tomatoes but the idea of a slice of ketchup also sounds disgusting

Same. I can't do raw fresh tomatoes but I am fine with salsa,, marinara, etc.

I was the same as you until I had some really flavorful, not gooey or watery at all tomato sliced. If you can get heirloom tomatoes near you I recommend them fully. They're more expensive, but you need fewer of them

I remember as a toddler adults pulling a "you like ketchup, so why dont you like tomatoes?" On kids who didnt like tomatoes. Like.. okay, drink some vinegar then, throw some sodium bicarbonate on your pasta.

Sugar. You like it because it's loaded with sugar. I don't like tomatoes, fine with ketchup and salsa. But not pico, because the tomatoes in pico are still too tomato.

Not really, puréed tomato is still just straight up tomato and I don’t mind that. I just hate the texture and taste of raw tomatoes.

Cooked tomatoes taste distinctively different from raw ones. Ketchup, salsa and pasta sauce all have different degrees of cookedness.
