PS has kept their naming consistent enough that it's not hard to figure out. Ps4 and ps5 are obviously different gens, one x series x doesn't inform you in any way what's better.
If you think the ps5 game selection is bad wait till you see what xbox doesn't have. And everything exclusive to xbox is on PC. Sony has been absolutely mopping the floor with xbox this gen, which is probably why they think people will spend $700 in the pro.

I did this 20+ years ago after a bank stole my money with bogus overdraft fees and refused to reverse them. Rent was due. Wrote myself a check a withdrew my fucking money from the ATM. Yet another check in the box of reasons not to renew plus. I'm still on extra until July, been a plus member since ps3, and would always buy a year during black friday sales. With the massive price increase and now this, I'm actually logging what games I play off plus to see if the cost is still worthwhile.
As far as the earlier expiration, I always just redeem for the $5 store credit. No point in saving up more, you don't get better deals for saving and redeeming for the $20 credit.
