ITS A FUCKING CAR ON A ROAD, NOT A RIDE permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] Tau@aussie.zone -7 points 3 weeks ago (3 children) That screeching is a great example of what helped shift people (and design/manufacturing budgets) away from building lighter and lower cars. No point prioritising those things which help handling when speed limits keep being set well below the safety limits of actual trucks (let alone cars), you can't advertise sporty handling, and roads become more and more potholed. Take away people's ideas of one form of enjoyment when driving and they'll find another - this has ended up with everyone having ideas of adventure instead and now you've got herds of nominally off road capable SUVs everywhere and many more four wheel drives than there used to be in urban areas. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] Taleya@aussie.zone 12 points 3 weeks ago (2 children) Mate, if your response to "stop being a dickhead on the road" is to build or buy a massive ego soothing vehicle, then that is entirely on you and your toddler brain. The most fun I had in a car was my 2003 Nissan Sentra se-r spec-v. 6speed manual trans with a V6 engine. Holy fuck I loved that car. My 02 Jetta vr6 was pretty fun too, but that nissan yo. You wanna have fun just drive a manual, maybe not in the urban area (why have a car at all in an urban area), but.. idk. Go the speed limit, theyre not too low. Vehicles today are just made in a way you feel your speed less. So, drive a stick so you can actually feel your speed. permalink fedilink source parent
