AI/LLM coding assistance is permitted but the author must understand/review the patch and take responsibility -- including that the contribution is LGPLv2.1+ compatible. The NetworkManager policy also will not allow AI assistance in communication for the upstreaming/review of said patches.

So basically using AI code is allowed but it would take more time to research if it is license-compatible (if that's even possible) than just writing the code yourself in the first place
