Congrats! Are you skipping the scrotectomy in prep for a future vaginoplasty?

PS: I have gone through a number of major surgeries. Just make sure to have someone to take care of you for a few days while the aftereffects of the anesthesia work their way our of your system, and while you heal.

Sending good vibes.

Nice. Please be a good patient and focus on sleep and recovery. A lot of people feel guilty and start trying to be less of a burden by "busy bee-ing". All that does is put you at risk. Just enjoy a couple of days of rest and sleep.

Scrotectomy? That's a thing?

What's the difference between it and orchiectomy?

Currently I'm planning on a vaginoplasty, though the challenge lies in that I want three things;

a) sufficent blood flow and supply for e.g. transplanted organs, to maximise chances for a uterus transplant
b) a vaginal microbiome consistent with cis gals (so, i'd likely need parts from the darms or the mouth)
c) self-lubrication

Copypasta:

Orchiectomy is the surgical removal of one or both testicles and the spermatic cord.

Scrotectomy is the surgical removal of the scrotal sac.

Many surgeons suggest skipping the scrotectomy as they might need the tissue in order to perform a vaginoplasty.

These are just basic terms. I am not a medical doctor so my knowledge in the subject is limited to the basic research I did in order to be supportive to my trans friends.
