Consider the *eight! possibilities, all of which are hilarious in their own special way.

  1. There is an immense amount of soap, but it is not enough for humanity even still which is immediately hilarious in an existential context-obliterating way.

  2. There is a massive excess of soap and it is simply not being distributed equitably to (literally) the dirtiest places which is darkly hilarious as a poetically hamfisted metaphor for current day reality.

  3. There is PRECISELY the exact amount of soap being produced to meet the ever increasing volume of humanity's soap requirements in a way that is comically obsessive and inane to the point that you can't help but laugh even though obviously it is important to make as efficient as possible. Note the nihilistic humor to the additional fact implied here that as far as soap is concerned, this is as clean as it is ever going to make the world all by itself.

  4. Nobody knows and no one even knows how to even begin to calculate the answer.

  5. Someone has asked this question before and someone took an absurd amount of time to answer it already.

  6. Nobody has ever asked this question before in a way that led to anyone pursuing answering it.

  7. There is a vast ancient wisdom lost.

  8. There is an ongoing conspiracy to determine the true nature of soap in secret....

Soap can neither be created nor destroyed, although it may be rearranged in space, or the entities associated with it may be changed in form.
