Genuinely speaking, I really feel all the dark stuff introduced regarding the Tau should be treated about as canonical as how chuds treat female space marines
The dark stuff was only introduced because crybabies got upset there was an actual good faction in warhammer
This is basically how 90% of 40k lore gets made.
That is the obviously correct interpretation
I treat the bad stuff about T'au the same way I treat propaganda about China. FAKE NEWS!
