Unrelated, but I'm always insanely irritated when I see westerners using Vlad as diminutive from Vladimir. If you are going to use diminutives, use the correct ones!

There are a few options, but I think Vovochka is the one that mainly gets used for Putin.

I'm actually mostly annoyed, because Vlad is diminutive for Vladislav, and I always have to spend 20 seconds discerning, who they are talking about.

Maybe they are Polish lmao, here the diminutives for Vladislav (Władysław) and Vladimir (Włodzimierz) only differ by one letter: Władek and Włodek
