Why do this? She knows exactly what she posted that got people mad at her, and there were hundreds of people in the replies at the time explaining exactly what about the post got them mad.

I honestly think she's just addicted to drama and attention.

Imma be real, that ain't the only thing she's obviously addicted to.

Her admitted opium addiction is not something we should mock. Addiction is a serious issue. The fact that she started doing it because she likes the aesthetics of an opium den is a bit funny, but being an addict is a disease and not funny.

I was implying alcoholism, and we can talk about how addictions effect judgment and behavior. That's one of the defining things about drug/alcohol addictions.

That would still be an addiction, still be serious, and still not be worth mocking.

If you feel so strongly about it, take this post down and never make fun of her again.

Mocking someone for having a bad take and mocking them for their disease are not the same

They're not separate things. One feeds into the other.

No they're not. She's not a weird centrist lib who thinks genocide is about her because she drinks, and she doesn't drink because her politics are bad. People have bad takes without being alcoholics.

There are strong indications that she's drunk every time she tweets, and that effects the self-centeredness, lack of ability to see how she looks, lack of inhibition and emotionalism of her tweets, and those are things you're making fun of and inviting us to make fun of. You're not just mocking her bad politics, you're mocking the way she expresses them. If you were purely mocking someone's bad politics, you wouldn't go after contrapoints, you'd post the thousands of articles and opinion pieces in major publications denying the genocide in Gaza.

Addiction is not a disease. Classifying it as such is counterproductive.

You can’t get cured of a disease by going to therapy. Addiction is primarily psychological and emotional.

Addiction as a disease is intimately linked to AA 12-steps culture btw

The idea of addiction as disease became widespread because of AA 12-steps. AA came with the allergy “theory”, which eventually evolved into the disease theory.

It’s not a good model though. It treats addiction as something external the sufferer has no control over.

The best most modern addiction therapies and treatments are all about strengthening the ability for self-control.

Only in the sense that everything surrounding addiction is. But addiction as disease is just the correct heuristic and is used by everyone from psychiatrists to therapists to laypeople.

Unless she's got a nasty coke habit or something

She had an Opium addiction at one point. Which like, I don't want to minimize anyone's struggles with substance abuse, but opium feels like a very bougie addiction to have in the 2020s.

Rage/engagement bait. Only way for her to have any relevance anymore is to post ridiculous shit like this to stir up engagement.

or to put out video content more than once per year (you know, the way she got famous originally), but she refuses to do that because that would be work and she's on her coasting girlboss passive-income phase

Like look at this, 5 videos in 4 years. Entire 200 million dollar full length studio movies are made quicker than her talking into a camera with bi lighting. Why does someone this lazy feel so entitled to the limelight? She's also getting 1/3 to 1/4 of the views that she used to, probably because her original fans and subscribers have died of old age.

probably because her original fans and subscribers have died of old age.

Nah, her original fans are all way more radical than her. She moved right into Liberal Brunch territory, while the cohort of people who supported her at her peak, have since radicalized further left.

But yeah, girl is definitely coasting on her former (and quickly evaporating) good will

Egotistical people have a way of completely failing to absorb information about the thought processes and motives of others even when explicitly explained. I knew just such a person once and we would regularly have conversations that went along the following lines:

Him: "Why do you think/do A?"
    Me: "For reasons X, Y, and Z."
Him: "Okay, but why do you think/do A?"
