In the shower I like noise and whatnot and am able to still have a pretty relaxing time. Plus NPR is just a few minutes and just facts.
I’m lucky I get to walk and take public transit to/from work, so that’s my quiet time. Even if I’m on the phone doing my daily gatcha game or scrolling lemmy, I still get moments of quiet and introspection. I was diagnosed with depression last year, and I think it was a big part of just dopamine burnout with ADHD and the news cycle, but I’m doing much better on medication, and it’s allowed me to step back and quiet my thoughts a little more too. :)
Everyone is different, but thanks for being concerned for your neighbor lemmy user and taking the time to explain!
