If you really want to get into it pretty much every major tech company was funded by inqtel who forced the companies to put a back door in for them.
If you want to go further you can male the argument that the us military handed over GPS, ans the intranet to the people in order to create the survalience technology.
And it was 9/11 that ushered in the legal privatized survalience apparatus that we fight everyday. And the system lables us as a terrorist that warrents all the illegal spying they're doing on us.
Sad this is we don't even need fancy spying. CIA, FBI, anyone can just buy all the data that would be illegal for the goverment to collect. But its not illegal when corporations do it, abd for some reason its not illegal for the goverment to buy that data.
