I'm seeing a lot of stories about protests in India including a march on parliament. Than the arrest of the opposition leader and another influential person on hunger strike.

But what is unclear is what is the background? And are they separate incidents or are they linked? If someone on the ground in India could detail what is happening, that would be great.

Do you think this will create a longer lasting political movement?

I personally don't have much confidence that this will lead to a long term solution. I've seen people turn this into a debate about political parties, but in my opinion, regardless of which party is in power, the same patterns of corruption and neglect continue. This isn't a new problem it's something the country has struggled with for a long time.

If we want to see meaningful, lasting change, I believe it will require serious efforts to reform the political system itself. That means putting stronger safeguards, accountability measures, and checks and balances in place to reduce corruption, prevent neglect, and ensure those in power are held responsible for their actions.
