[-] Flatfire@lemmy.ca 14 points 2 weeks ago

Also where are you supposed to keep your ID, cash, health card, etc? Wallets are for more than just payment.

[-] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

at home.

then when the bouncer asks for your ID you call them a boomer and throw a fit.

I'm beyond the age of going places that bouncers will ask for my ID, but I have on many occasions gotten away with showing a photo of my passport on my phone when I needed ID at e.g. the post office to collect a package

just hand your phone to the cops bro.

Who the fuck uses cash lol. I do keep a 20 inside my phone case for emergencies though.

I have a mini card holder that sticks to the back of my phone case (MagSafe) if I'm going somewhere I'll need health care card. Such occasions are extremely rare though, it's just doctor or dental visits

Also if I'm driving somewhere then you gotta bring the car papers with you so my license just lives in the same case as them.

Passport also has its own case/bag if I need to bring it with me for something

Fucking thank you, I feel like I'm the insane one when I see people doing all that NFC Tap to pay shit

[-] protogen420@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 weeks ago

I hate that most NFC payments don't require on device confirmation, other than that they are actually quite secure, early credit cards, the swipe ones had 0 security

[-] shuffle3765@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah much more secure than using a real credit card that's for sure!
