Here are a few takeaways:
- Rahm's proposal to shift from a 2-state solution to a 23-state solution deserves real attention. The whole region needs to be part of the answer.
I feel like youd be disappointed. Jordan is an American outpost, Saudi Arabia is team Israel, Lebanon's government is comprador-astic, the UAE would never lift a finger for anyone's liberation, iraq is a mess, Syria is a puppet state, in Egypt Sisi is actively complicit in Palestinian genocide, etc.
Lebanon’s government is a genuine chimera with each head pulling in a diametrically opposite direction and every “agreement” it has signed has been with a gun to its head(s)
The government was officially threatened by the US to either start a civil war or have the US directly declare war on it. Plenty of people in some areas you can call compradors, the government is not what I’d call that.
