That is almost definitely not what happened. Jupiter’s moons are composed of different material than our moon. Our moon was likely the result of another planet colliding with baby earth. The ejecta from that collision would have formed the moon.
So you are saying Jupitor didn't give earth a moon balloon? Damn. Next you are gonna tell me planets don't have arms and legs either.
I went to refresh my memory on the name of the proto-planet that may have whacked into us to make the moon, and then skimming the wiki, I got to learn the Earth may be full of huge chunks of shrapnel to this day from the impact. Very cool!
