I've got a cousin moving to Australia in a couple of weeks. It'll be the first family member I've seen since I was in high school.
Kind of exciting, but also nervous.
As someone who has relatives in other countries that I barely know, I would say don’t put too much pressure on it. If you click well and become friends that’s really awesome. But if you haven’t had contact for a long time (or ever?), look at it like meeting a stranger. Not everyone will be compatible and if you don’t feel a connection that’s ok too.
That's good advice.
I don't want to get too close too quickly just for the sake of it.
He's from my mums side of the family, and they were kinda dicks after she passed away.
I'm an only child and my cousins we're like my siblings.
We don't talk much (distance and time zones)... but we're still close...if that makes sense
this is awesome 😊
and also the first time they have seen you in ages and they are moving too, they must be excited and nervous too
Totally. They need help getting settled so I don't mind helping.
