The media ensures anyone with a backbone does not attain any sort of high office, the people that are left say yes or say nothing, which is no kind of morality at all. No fertiliser is being put down, it is just on to the next wasteland. But now it is seen how easily neo-democracies capitulate and the next iteration of the administration might have intelligence as well as contrived popularity.
