I tried to talk with the admin to take things over, they gave me some initial info on the costs that they pay but then went silent.

It also wasn't really a costs thing iirc, it was mostly burn out from dealing with tankies, trolls and bots (scammers, spammers and scrapers) on top of rising costs

Ah, that makes sense. Bummer, though. I wonder if someone else can grab the domain and rebuild once it expires?
