Absolutely. I’m from a cold place in the US, but we still at least got PSAs for a variety of climates. I’ve met several Germans who had a vacation companion melt their flip flops on hot sand, which sounds silly, but it’s not something they ever had to think about.
On the other hand, I’ve learned a lot about dealing with the cold here, because it’s not silliness, just climate specialization.
Yeah growing up in the American Midwest I have shocked friends with stories of what I've done when it got so cold and snowy that we lost power (yeah, you'd think cities that experience the lake effect wouldn't have that problem, but USA). I can't handle a particularly hot summer though and wouldn't even think to consider that my shoes would melt on sand. It's just not what I'm used to.
A whole bunch of them got a lesson in applied meteorology on a visit to the New World this spring.
