Well I did sleep but it was poor. For the first time the heat actually woke me up and forced me to turn the air back on. My home is not ready for the extreme heat we are going to get now with climate change and ah fuck, got me worried.

Sorry that sucks. The thing you'd ideally want is a very well-insulated home that can be rapidly aired out when needed plus an AC. All of that is $$$.

Someone mentioned a swamp cooler. That only works in low humidity but if you're lucky and have low humidity you're good to go.

Someone mentioned a ceiling fan but having someone install it is a dealbreaker. You can stimulate a ceiling fan with a rotating fan that's angled at around 45 degrees upwards. It moves air all around the room. Combined with AC or a cooler nighttime air it can cool your room overall.

Covering windows during the day can be a game changer if you have good enough insulation. You can black out windows with aluminum foil and tape. You can combine this with a windows open/closed schedule where you get cooler air at night (windows open) and then close the system during the day. This also means very little indoor cooking during the day or the house will heat up.
