They created Superman, hyped him up and promised great powers and impressive abilities. Then, against all odds, created a situation where Superman could used these remarkable abilities to delight and excite. But then they rug-pulled the viewer by refusing to let Superman use these long promised powers. Add lots of arty shots, incomprehensible yelling, nonsensical side storylines, and you get The Bear. A complete waste of time.
It felt like watching Lost, in that the show runners had a good idea, but didn’t have the talent or creativity to actually come up with a compelling story that makes sense and ends in a reasonable way.
This show is overhyped. The only thing I got out of it was finding out about Matty Matheson and his cooking videos (and Netflix show). An acquired taste, but at least engaging.
