Can you provide some alternatives not on that list? Most of these companies tend to have large employer insurance plans.
I’m not so sure about that area though if a lot of people switched to the insurance options at their local credit unions it would starve the Manulife clowns from lobbying Ottawa and thus our liberals and conservatives would behave more.

Yup. Echoing what the sibling said - these are institutionally entrenched corpos, not sure if it's even possible to boycott them. Probably can deprive them from some profit but they aren't nearly as exposed as say the grocery retailers.
Sun Life has their grubby hands on dentalcare payments from the government.
Yeah, I couldn't believe NDP went along with this shit. Getting new gov't medical care services provided by private financial corpo is top noliberal bullshit. I didn't pay attention to the details of the implementation at the time.
That explains why people were claiming that the Jagmeet Singh’s ndpers were just nicer liberals who were afraid of mentioning socialism.
