I once knew a guy who was overweight and had his face fucked up in an ATV accident who was constantly cheating on his various girlfriends.
Looks really don't matter.
I've run into/heard about these guys. The problem with your statement is that the girls they are with tend to also be overweight and have fucked up faces.
Sounds like they're getting laid at least, which is contrary to the typical incel narrative
I mean, sure. I'm just saying there is a middle ground. My take is that looks matter - but personality and lifestyle matter too. And all of these things can be improved with reasonable (though consistent) amounts of work.

There's shortage of conventionally unattractive guys pulling hot tail.
Your personality has a ton to do with it. And how much you remind them of their father.
Looks don't matter but you have to also believe looks don't matter.
