First episode of the new Race Around the World Series has dropped. Six film-makers make documentaries in each country they're sent to, without any support and no prep. They aren't only sending then to the easy or touristy destinations either.

The stories brought on by the people they meet, and things they see in these places are as wide and varied as the places they go.

The judges are cutting but fair. They already show a respect and rapport with each other and the film-makers. Theres a genuine authenticity to each documentary and the show as a whole.

This is reality tv as it should be. It isn't 'big' tv, its good tv.

I watched a bit of this, and some of the stories weren't great, and also the judges were a bit annoying at times.

I'm prepared to give it more time. I vaguely remember the first series not for the bad stories, nor the judges, but for the occasional brilliant story that could only ever be captured by a reporter in those circumstances, in that particular place, at that particular time. Truly mind expanding stuff, where at the end of the story, the only thing I could think was "Whoa!"

Banter and chat about the show you are watching - hopefully with everyone else watching the same show, or things will be confusing.
