MODERATORS
Movie production costs have exploded to a point it's a negligible difference to make a series. The extra time allows for a plot to develop more organically. It also allows for more tension as episodes allow an audience time to recover and process. Series also work better with subscription services.
Plus you can get better back stories for the villains. The shows are usually more interesting with an interesting antagonist .
