Bill Gates didn't invent the personal computer, he only privatized personal computer software. Read "Open Letter to Hobbyists" (1976). In 1975, US reformed copyright law to protect written source code. In 1976, Bill Gates published "Open Letter to Hobbyists" in many computer magazines, chastising computer users for not paying money for software. Computer binaries/executables were not protected by copyright until the 1980s. Prior to 1976, it was common for computer users to freely exchange computer code. Bill Gates got rich by using new laws to charge money for something that had been freely shared.

I know it's the fake news comm but people should know this.
