He was speaking Hebrew, that's how they identified him as Jewish.
It's a populated area of London, they likely couldn't do more before people intervened.
I've read the original report that the Guardian story is based on now and despite having more detail it still reads very weird.
There's something either being omitted or embellished.
Like the assailants and victim may have known each other but for some reason the victim isn't disclosing that. Fuck knows. It's shite being on the receiving end of a beating though, hopefully they recover soon.
