I've been aggressively filtering my newsfeed for years now and I didn't suddenly forget about all the corruption and injustice. I just have no need for those headlines to overwhelmingly dominate my day-to-day ingestion of news. "Corrupt Oligarch Continues Campaign Against Human Rights" isn't news to me; it's the status quo.
