This is exactly how it works. If one partner, irrespectively of gender, is the main breadwinner, the other one is expected to contribute by doing more around the house.
In theory yes. But how that works in modern times is that both partners work full time and then women are generally expected to do all the house wifey things when they get home.
That's called marrying an asshole
