UN 2026 Industrial Development Report

I think you could get a lot out of reading it. It does a good job so far broadcasting the disproportionate development and investment in Global South countries and highlights a little bit how China is leading the entire East Asia and Pacific region towards further industrialization. The report also has an interesting upcoming chapter on how to facilitate the industrialization of Global South countries in an energy-efficient manner.

With that being said, it is the UN. They do a decent job of highlighting issues and global inequality, but fall short of identifying how and why this system is furiously upheld despite these existential challenges.

Of course, and I don't expect it to really identify the hows and whys of the system's failure.

It's good that it's still educational and elucidating.
