Woop Woop. Tis upon us again, the blessed day that begins with the letter F. And a long weekend too.......oh bugger. Oh well we'll do the next one then.
I have an adventuresome afternoon ahead of me. I'm picking up a shed that's flat packed from Stratco in Ormeau at about noon. Big enough thing when built, 10 metres by 5.75. $16,000 five years interest free. I might end up living in it which wasn't the plan when I ordered it.
I initially got it for my first block that I paid for with my super. Since then I got a mortgage for a different block with stunning views across back to the mainland.
So yeah everything changed and I now have a mortgage.
Anyway then I drive back to Redland Bay in the flatbed small truck ( Budget, $200 for 24 hours which is damn decent ) Then just over an hour barge journey, then at my block a Manitou ( Telehandler ) will be lifting it off the truck. The shed weighs about 1800 kgs. Not something I'd like to handball.
A memorable day for sure. Enjoy yours lovely people.
I was about four hours at the loading dock. They couldn't find some stuff, like the roller door.....oh well apparently they deliver to site. Cough and LOL.
I live on Russell Island so today has been a case of logistics.
They phoned me up to ask if I could postpone it till another day. I was literally signing for the hire truck and of course said no.
Getting in the barge with a departure at 4:05. And yeah got quite wet loading up, such fun.
Take plenty of photos - good to look back and remember how suck it was to transport and build when you're relaxing in your comfy chair in the finished product.
Hope its in Colorbond(tm) so you can stand out the front and admire it like old mate from that ad back in the day:

Yeah that’s a day and a half.
You building that shed yourself? That’s about twice the length of the one I have.
Rain today too apparently, well starting from today.
