I am actually trying vertical tabs after reading this and it is surprisingly disorienting for me. I think the major reason for me is that if I need to check the URL I need to read the top but if I want to read the tab title, I have to look left. Using split windows is also common for me, where the proportions are inversed. I think I'll go back to horizontal tabs soon
The window's title bar shows the tab's title.
