Hopefully someday Americans will understand that this specific property of the commodification of housing is why we will always have homelessness under capitalism
I still remember how westoids were frothing at the mouth how China was gonna have a 2008 moment when they started winding down the whole real estate market. These people just couldn't imagine the government simply taking over the housing projects and distributing them to people while investors ate the costs if their failed ventures.
