There's no space between the dash though. AI does em dash like -- this, and the email did it like--this.

That's not an em dash in your comment. In the email it looks to be an em dash.

Here are the three dashes: em dashes (—), en dashes (–) , and hyphens (-)

It's the width that makes the em dash so noticeable in ai content.

I know, but you know what I meant. It's the spaces next to the em dash which scream AI. If there aren't spaces, then it's probably not AI.

i usually put spaces around em dashes because it's slightly more readable. i hate LLMs so much

right, good, that's also for humans to do. But LLMs exclusively do it that way too.
