Those videos also show police intervention, including a man now identified as police chief Scott McElree entering the crowd, grabbing and shoving a student and placing another student in a chokehold.

He then got beat up by a bunch of girls in response to his attack. He was plainclothes at the time of the attack, so they had no idea whether this was just some random murderer trying to kill one of them.
