I missed this post the other day. I love building bandai's Star Wars and gunpla model kits. I don't often get the opportunity to get one, so I've only built a few over the years, but always looking forward to building more when I can. My very first kit is probably my most interesting/unique. A 7-Eleven themed classic gundam that afaik was only sold in 7-Eleven stores in Japan, which I built many years ago, before I ever got into watching the series.
The past couple years, I finally started watching the series and I love it. I'm in a similar camp, I've been watching the series chronologically, so I'm also mostly only familiar with UC, and only just starting to venture outside of it (finished G gundam, started Wing). I've built two more since getting into the series properly. Sorry bad lighting/photo quality on these ones. First was Kamille's Mk II in Titans colors:
and most recently a Zaku II, which was my first RG kit. This one is currently unfinished, still needs decals and I never built accessories:
After building the green Zaku, I'd love to make Char's red Zaku next as well. I'm also glad you posted pictures of the hyaku-shiki, that was also a kit I was looking at potentially getting, but I really wasn't sure how the metallic gold plastic would look outside of the promotional pictures. I was afraid it might look tacky/cheap, but it actually looks pretty good.
The MG Hyaku-Shiki has some amazing looking gold, the HG looks good but not even close to the MG. I did polish the fuck out of the Hyaku-Shiki in the picture and set up the lighting etc. It still looks great irl, especially in motion. The gold plastic does show nub marks big time, especially if you pinch off the last by accident so be extra careful nipping those bits and get good sanding stuff if you don't already.
I'm working on the AEUG version of the MK2 rn. Based on your pic of the Titans version it looks like they're just straight recolors of each other. So maybe I'll grab another AEUG one cause they're at my local Michael's and they do 40% off coupons all the damn time and it'll be my first custom painting project.
