This show picks up right after Clone Wars when Maul has nothing, but he's used to that.
While there is some comics and other lore about Maul out there, based on films and animated shows we know,
19 BBY - Great Jedi Purge (Animated Clone Wars finale)
10 BBY - Leading Crimson Dawn (Solo film)
3 BBY - Meets Ezra Bridger (Rebels)
So we probably don't ever get to Qi'ra from Solo in this series, maybe the last season as a small but rising character.
I think probably the most fun of this series will just be Maul being a bastard. He's a crime lord killing other crime lords and inquisitors, plus he has an apprentice.
