Sure but there's not exactly a cacophony of world leaders demonstrating their human decency rught now is there.
UK (and Australia) are long standing allies of the US, with complex economic and military ties.
Say what you will about that relationship, but it shouldn't be surprising that the UK PM'S response is measured.
No one's surprised that the UK, Australia, etc. are upholding imperialism, the point is that that's bad.
My point is, everyone is "upholding imperialism" in the same way and its daft to expect the UK and Aus to be first to denounce it.
Sure, but our point is that this is further evidence of UK and Aus being imperialist vassals. Nobody is surprised by it, that's not the point.
You might want to take a look at who "everyone" is who upholds imperialism. I think you'll notice a certain... pattern. There's even a helpful map another user posted above in this thread.

Something like this although usually with neocolonial states as well.
