The problem is you know they’re not extending it to the bourgeoisie as a whole, or even just the ultra-wealthy bourgeoisie. It’s the old “punish just the bad billionaires” lib mentality.

It's the "bad king" monarchist trope re-emerging in modern times with a Liberal filter. The "bad president" will bring famine and war and despair, while the "good president" will have a peaceful and prosperous rule. The weather shifts, the world rebels against an improper and unkingly ruler, all must be set right by replacing them with a good president
