I am conflicted on this.

While the trans community is generally supportive, as non-binary person I have hard time relating to most trans conversations, resources, memes, etc.

Is it weird that I still feel alone?

    Non-binary and trans are not separate concepts though. I identify being trans, but that doesn't mean I have to be super binary. And the struggles my non-binary friends face are also mostly the same. It is certainly harder to use they/them, neopronouns or no pronouns. But I can still relate with that struggle very much and support wherever I can.

    But I agree that it is hard to relate to most trans memes posted here. They are often very binary and rooted in gender stereotypes. But I think this isn't a you-problem and more of a problem of this specific lemmy community and various trans spaces online. As a trans person, I'd wish there would be more nuanced and relatable takes, not so much idealization of cat girls and anime...

    Regarding the OP, I wouldn't be interacting with strangers like this because I'm socially too anxious.

    Moe anime girls are invasive species. Beatiful 90s futch tomboy anime girls with huge hair who drink a lot and wear tank tops all the time were driven to extinction by moe catgirl in a maid costume who goes "wehh". Those are the apex predators. They dominate ruthlessly with reckless abandon. Terrifying beasts.

    That said, I don't think there's HRT that would give you yaoi-sized hands. An allergic reaction might.

    Oh sure, the acceptance is there as I said.

    However rejecting all societal defaults, having no clear path forward and little to use for guidance or example is certainly a rather specific mood. As much liberating it can also be.

    Regarding the OP, I actually rather enjoy when me being visibly gender non-conforming has this effect on people.

    And you're right, we could definitely use more variety of takes on here. Maybe I'll be the enbyposter I want to see in the world.

    I feel like these are all things that I also go through as a (probably mostly???) binary trans person. I don't really know who I want to be yet and have to discover this, too. I think it is always as much about finding yourself as it is about finding the right gender and gender expression.

    On days when I feel confident in myself, I also enjoy this very specific mood of nonconforming and messing with people's perception of gender :)

    I meant being GNC having the effect of attracting trans/queer people in non-queer spaces. I don't usually care enough about people's perception to intentionally mess with it, however I guess it also helps me spot the people I want to avoid early on.

    Also I'd love to pick your (or anyone's with relevant experience) brain about the possible differences. However I'm pretty sure that's not discussion for public forum. The chance of me asking a demeaning question or phrasing something really badly would be fairly high.

    I'm on hrt and all, so I feel very "seen" by other transfems, binary or not. Even so, there is something special about being around other enbys that I can't get anywhere else.

    So I get what you mean about still feeling alone. If you don't relate to the lived experiences of binary trans folks, then spaces dominated by them probably don't feel as comfy for you. That's very normal and expected, not weird.
