There are xtians that literally think that people like Thiel should be put to death, by the government. And Thiel has aligned himself with weirdo xtian mythology. People like Thiel used to have to stand out on a corner with a sign and some pamphlets and most people would steer clear. Maybe cross the street, point and snicker a bit. Fuentes is not only gay, but Mexican. The people that are in their camp right now have plenty among them that will gladly purge them when it comes time for it. Doesn't matter how many followers or how much is in their bank account: there is a certain kind of xtian that wants to be empowered by the government to murder all gays. I suppose Thiel thought he'd hole up in New Zealand or something, but...with crazy-eyed zealots, I would not put anything past the extent to which they will go in their murderous aims.
