Well, it is the closest state to Ukraine
Got me wondering if one of those islands in Alaska is closer but I think it's still Maine
Wow I spend almost every day of my life staring at maps for hours and was still shocked. From what I can figure, Maine is still closer, but only just barely. I did not expect it to be that close of a competition at all
Alaska is massive, there are islands south of Russia that are in Alaska. Also yeah I didn't realize how close it was, but I always forget the earth isn't flat
I wish I had the freedom in life to see all of the Aleutians. Genuinely so fucking beautiful. In fact, I’m probably going to make a post about them today
