Some of y'all may remember MTV's Alternative Nation or 120 Minutes, awesome programs & incredible ways to discover #music back in the 80s & 90s...

Welcome, to the Fediverse edition!

The Golden Rule: Music taste is subjective so don't be a gatekeeping asshole. There's no "bad music", only music you like or don't like.

We Are A Community: So no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or spam.

🎵 Let's get lost in the Fediverse's record store together! 🎶

@[email protected] posted an article about US College radio stations (read post).

I suggested starting a thread with some good radio station streams and podcasts (from where-ever)…so here it is.

My idea would be to include:

  • Name of your recommendation
  • Link to live stream, listen again page or podcast homepage
  • Brief description about why you recommend it

I will post a couple below to start off.

Edit - I just noticed that @[email protected], posted on this topic the other day, so check that out, too.

I can not recommend Hit Parade enough! If you like music and love hearing all kinds of background info and bands, music, trends, producers, all that stuff. Hit Parade is a fave. It's on all the podcast apps and spotify.

"Chris Molanphy, a pop-chart analyst and author of Slate’s “Why Is This Song No. 1?” series, tells tales from a half-century of chart history. Through storytelling, trivia, and song snippets, Chris dissects how that song you love—or hate—dominated the airwaves, made its way to the top of the charts, and shaped your memories forever."
